Driver photographs their government-issued ID. The system validates it against carrier records.

Scan the driver's QR code with any smartphone camera — no app, no login. You'll see the verified driver's name, photo, company, DOT number, and every assigned vehicle.

Match the face.

Confirm the person in front of you matches the verified photo. That's the only judgment call you make — the identity check already happened.

Release with confidence.

Verified driver, matching face, listed vehicles — release. The event is logged with a timestamp, so your documentation is done the moment the keys change hands.

If something fails, don't release.

Expired code, failed verification, no release authorization shown — the vehicle stays. Don't override. The driver resolves it through their dispatcher or Carpool support.

For Drivers

Verified once. Protected on every pickup.

Carpass also protects you — nobody can use your DOT number or pick up vehicles under your name. Verification is a one-time process; after that, pickups take minutes.

Verify your identity — once.

Photo of the front of your license and a live selfie. Enter your legal name exactly as it appears on your ID, plus your phone and DOT number.

Allow location and camera.

Both permissions are required. Without them, the system can't verify you or issue your release code.

Be at the pickup.

Your QR code only issues once you're physically inside the pickup geofence. You can't verify early from somewhere else — make sure location services are on and you have signal.

Show your code live.

The code expires after a short time and can't be reused. Never screenshot or share it — show it live at the gate and you're moving.

What buyers ask before deploying Carpass at scale.

Does my dealership or auction need to sign up for anything?

No. If your vehicles ship with Carpool, Carpass is already part of every release — there's nothing to install and nothing to configure. Your team just scans the driver's code and confirms the match.

Do I need an app to scan a driver's code?

No — a smartphone camera works. Scanning opens the verified release view: driver name, photo, company, DOT number, and assigned vehicles.

What if the code is expired or the driver isn't verified?

Don't release the vehicle. An expired code or missing verification means one of the release conditions hasn't been met, and there are no overrides. The driver resolves it through their dispatcher or Carpool support — most issues (like re-entering the geofence or refreshing an expired code) clear in minutes.

Do drivers need a smartphone?

Yes. The driver-side workflow — ID capture, face match, and receiving the release code — requires a smartphone with camera and location access. Gate staff don't need anything special to scan.
